Click on the sector of interest for key issues to be discussed within the Summit and Focus Sessions

The second NEPAD Summit will focus on presentations by leading experts on solutions for today’s challenges and the future of our continent. The Summit brings together policy-makers, government leaders, experts, key individuals, industry decision-makers, business executives and stakeholders.
Parallel plenary sessions and parallel focus sessions will allow like-minded people across Africa to tap into new markets and industries, to be informed on current issues and to prioritise the way forward.
Transportation and Infrastructure sectors will each have focus sessions within the Summit culminating in a summary of each sector and the impact the sectors have on each other -- a domino effect that creates a positive spiral of upliftment and development.
Transportation is essential in the operation of a market economy
Transport infrastructure is linked to economic growth
Energy in Africa is Big Business
Water infrastructure development is a precondition for economic development
ICT a driver for economic growth
Taking place alongside the Summit will be a top-level investment conference to which international donors and investors have been invited to hear about prime African investment projects identified by the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA).
“Modern Infrastructure is the backbone of an economy and the lack of it inhibits economic growth...” Obiageli Ezekwesili, World Bank Vice-President for the Africa Region.
